MOWI is one of the world’s leading seafood companies, and the world’s largest producer of Atlantic salmon. In partnership with The Lane – their creative agency – they have embarked on a campaign to raise awareness of the brand and its new direct to consumer products.
The Lane approached Get Carter Productions initially to handle licensing a well-known song that could be used in a national multi-media ad campaign. It quickly became apparent that a bespoke track would offer more elements, more flexibility, and more value for the client – and could be produced and mixed in a number of ways to suit each individual platform. Alongside this, we were also tasked with sourcing a voice that evoked the brand values and ‘Scottishness’ of the brand.
Working closely with the agency creative team, we composed an initial track based on the mood and feel of the original song requested, and over a course of sessions developed it into the full suite of music the client is using today. This was made possible during lockdown by several ‘virtual sessions’ where the agency team attended the recording and mixing sessions for the voice and music, then feeding back ‘live’ to get the very specific sounds that reflect MOWI’s ambition for the brand.
