Manchester In The Sunshiiiiinnneeee
Ben shares his thoughts on speaking at HARK Live and what he took away from the event.
I started my radio career working in Manchester, a vibrant, passionate city that offered opportunities, fun, and excitement for anyone who welcomed the place and its people into their heart.
On Wednesday, I returned, along with the Get Carter team, to take our seats at HARK Live – an event organised by audioadpro – to network and showcase the collective future of digital audio. It’s true to say the traits of the city were in full effect in the room.

Six insightful sessions (and yes, dear reader, we were on stage too, presenting our thoughts on how digital audio creative should be uniquely different to its broadcast brethren) and a day of meeting and reconnecting with passionate, audio-centric professionals took place.
Highlights for me were the team from Distorted and their insights on podcast production; the always brilliant Paul Coleman from Humanise, on how you connect with and understand your audience; and James Brownlow from That Accent, on the work he’s recently done with Kiss.
The growth and consumption of digital audio, in all its forms, has grown rapidly in a relatively short space of time. But the belief, talent, and skill in the room convinces me that we’ve only just set out on a journey that promises so much, and the HARK Collective is determined to help us deliver on that promise.
So, if you want to know more about how effective creative and a digital strategy can help your brand grow and prosper, keep an eye on our socials, or get in touch.
Because we’re part of a digital future and #WeBelieveInAudio.
